Samuel Coelho
Born in Modesto, California, Samuel Coelho moved to Oregon as a young boy when his family relocated to join the blossoming Oregon wine industry. Having helped his parents plant and develop their estate vineyard as a young boy, Samuel always had a keen understanding of the potential of the Oregon wine industry.
Samuel received his BS from Oregon State University in business management, focusing on marketing, finance, accounting, and international business. A specialized degree he tailored to take his family’s business to the next level.
Samuel was able to help grow Coelho by 400% in just 5 years.
During the same period, Samuel also began a négociant wine company named Plush Wine Company. 99% of Plush’s production was exported to the emerging wine market of China.
In 2011 Samuel and his wife Bryn created Samuel Robert Winery. Initially created in the same négociant style as Plush Wine Company, Samuel Robert Winery grew quickly and in 2014 it required the purchase of their own vineyard site to meet the growing demand for their Willamette Valley, Oregon Pinot noir.
In late 2017, Samuel and Bryn’s focus shifted exclusively to the growth and development of Samuel Robert Winery and their two vineyard properties, Perrydale Hills Vineyard and Lucky Rooster Vineyard.
In 2018, Samuel Robert Winery saw growth in excess of 500%. Adjusting to the needs of their expanding business and dedicated to delivering consistent high-quality pinot noir, Samuel added additional acres of Pinot noir to their estate vineyard at Perrydale Hills. In 2019, he will launch of another Willamette Valley winery focusing on Pinot noir appropriately named Conscious Wines. Conscious Wines will focus on bringing awareness further to Willamette Valley Pinot noir by highlighting the process of producing environmentally aware grapes and wines.
Outside of the wine business, Samuel enjoys real estate, having developed SRC Management in 2010. SRC Management has commercial and residential real estate holdings in Oregon and Nevada. Samuel’s overall goal as a strategic businessman is to create long term wealth in areas where he and his family can flourish for generations to come.
Samuel and his lovely wife Bryn have 5 amazing children. Con, Francis, Mia, David and Michael Coelho. The children all love helping in the vineyard and at the winery. Although they love to be at home at the vineyard, they also enjoy traveling, wine, and mostly time spent with one another watching their children grow.
